    hehe, i know, i just didn't think it was possible to go thru bluetel/wcg/cogent to sites directly on the internap networks... now i know

    Internap is basically what it says a NAP there NAP's across the country arn't connected to each other. So an Internap customer in CA has to go out over the public internap to get to an Internap client in New York. So thus the WCG route might have been faster.

    Considering that both InterNAP locations have connections to Verio, that doesn't sound like the most logical route...

    They have Internap going in, Cogent and Williams coming out. Haven't seen a single trace going through Internap when tracing from my server.

    Alot of companies do that to show quality bandwidth when customers are testing out the networks and such. But when they really get on board they use the cheap bw for the outbound which is what they get billed on.

    they have internap outgoing to.. if you *really* need to see it trace www.yahoo.com

    Remember BGP4 isn't the smartest routing protocol.

    And, like it's been said before, InterNap doesn't have connections between it's NAPs.
