serverplex vs. splashhost?
am narrowed down to these folks for a low-level reselling plan.
they both have good reputations, and have both been really helpful in my questions to them thus far. any experiences here that might help me sway one way or another?
cheers!0

I've heard several good things about Alan at Splashhost. Do a search and weigh the positives and negative of both.

Alan is a cool guy, I stayed with him for a few months.
The only down side is the amount of space/ bandwidth they offer for the price. You CAN find better places, but they may not have as good as support.
On a lighter note, I had canceled my account with him and it charged for TWO MONTHS after I cancelled it.0

I would go with SplashHost of those two listed above. Good luck, and let us know who you decide to go with.

Hi,
I've been with SplashHost for nearly a year. Perhaps the ratio of disk space and data transfer to the price is not the best in the industry but the quality of the service and the support is superb. It is definitely worth some extra money you will pay to Alan.

well one is saying the other has lower quality bandwidth. it looks to me, in my preliminary research, that their bandwidth is almost identical.

i did the same thing, but don't find a lot of difference between the two in redundancy or quality; albeit my experience is limited in that arena so i'd be willing to listen there.

The bandwidth employed at NAC is of a much higher quality than Cogent bandwidth. I can't speak for the redundancy of ServerPlex because I don't know whether they use multihomed bandwidth utilizing BGP4 or similar, but if they are only Cogent based, then that isn't very redundant.

Hi Matt:
Just to clarify, our main site has not been moved yet, but all new servers are at NAC.
Everyone have a great night, thanks Andrew for clearing things up0

I've had troubles with Serverplex. The support is terrible. Currently, I cannot create new accounts because it says I'm 150mb over my 1gb limit. Upon looking at space used it says 51mb is used. I open a ticket with them (They are NEVER in the live support area) and hours later get a message that "The Logon is working fine.' It's a fine example of how support has been for them. I'm looking for a new host.

Alan answers support tickets and emails very fast. His technical knowledge is very good, I have yet to stump him on a question :-)
I will say the EVERY issue - no matter how minor was ALWAYS resolved PROMPTLY and CORRECTLY. He has put some extra effort into a few special requests I had (i.e. I needed two custom CPANEL themes)Joe - HostingWave.Com / TXINSURANCE.COM
