    Best USA-Europe connectivity

    Hi,

I have heard that NAC.net has the best connectivity to europe. (to everything outside USA?) Is this true?

I am concerned about this since 40% of my customers are not from USA.

Shared hosting at NAC costs $35/m @ 10GB but I know that there are other webhosts in NAC. Which one do you recommend?

    Thanks,

NAC has great connectivity from Europe (except from a couple of recent short term problems).

You will get better shared hosting deals through other companies that use NAC rather than direct with NAC if that makes sense.

    http://pwebtech.com
    http://site5.com
    http://spenix.com

All of the above are in NAC.

Out of the three I mentioned, I would have to recomend site5.com. Site5 has awesome support...

    That's far from being true.

I think the best might be from MyLoc, they're peered with 3 backbones and the German Internet Exchange.

I have some of their PDFs somehwere, pm me if you want them.

Posting a statement like that requires some justification. let's hear it. I don't host at NAC.net but I've never seen anything not to justify them in the top 5 based on the information and ping times I get from germany and england.

Just to back his statement up a little, here is a comparison of NAC and VDI done from various points in europe. It shows VDI as being faster by at least a few ms from every location I tested, even when coming in over VDI's cogent line, I have trimmed down the traces to keep the post a reasonable length, showing only the # of hops and ping times..

From experience (we use VDI and NAC) I have found NAC to be substantially faster to Europe because of it's direct peering with LINX. VDI certainly isn't slow - but NAC is faster.

To the Netherlands the NAC is as fast as a reliable and high quality Netherlands-based host. And when it comes to price the NAC is even more in favour than a Dutch Host
And most of the hosts having their servers in the NAC are so proud of it that they mention it in their sigs and ads!
