Anyone else experiencing this with addon and parked domains? Cpanel is creating the zone files, but not making a vhost entry in httpd.conf. Kind of a pain in the butt to do it manually for every customer's addon domains...
As default, cPanel will not create vhost entry for addon/parked domain if that domain does not use your nameservers. You may check 2 options for addon/parked domains in WHM (Tweak settings) but I'm not sure they could solve this problem or not?
Cheap Web Hosting - Multiple Domain Hosting - Reseller Hosting - Virtual Private Server
I have used hosts where Cpanel can set up an addon domain without the domain set to point to the IP yet (has not propagated, doesn't exist yet, etc.). I can pick any domain name, myweb.net, and create an addon domain.
I currently have an account with a host that is configured in such a way that addon domains cannot be created through Cpanel unless the domain is already using the hosts nameservers.
That sounds a lot like the comment in this thread about the Cpanel default being to not create the vhost record if the domain is not using the hosts domain servers.
This is the first host I have ever run into this with. Does that mean that the other hosts I have used changed the Cpanel configuration to always add the vhost record? What needs to be changed?
