    east coast, west coast

Those of you that run websites, do you get more visitors from the east coast of the U.S., or the west coast of the U.S.? Do you think it matters much whether you choose a host located in the east or the west?

With regards to chosing a host ... depends on where your visitors come from I would say

Or you could choose one smack dab in the middle of the US.

i dont' think it matters' where the host and its servers are located...i think the connection they are on would have more importance in terms of speed...

I guess that's what I was wondering. Do you guys find you are receiving more hits from the east coast, or more from the west coast? I would think it is fairly independent of the type of site being run.

I don't think it really matters. The speed difference wouldn't really be noticeable between the east and west coast.

For one, I'm not even sure how to see where your visitors are coming from. My webstats program (Webalizer) only keep track of countries. And those stats, of course, are derived from the Apache Web Servers stats.
