how to upgrade PHP on Apache / Redhat 6.2

Do I need to do a full instalation all over, or is there an easier way?

You may be able to apply a patch or use an RPM upgrade (although I don't suggest that). I'd recommend building it from source and in the future you can apply those same build options to the new compiles and you have a chance to add or remove modules and modify the options. Of course if you use loadable modules, you can sometimes get away with just rebuilding Apache and maybe a few other modules. It depends.

The latest Apache + PHP compile fine on RH6.2, just compile it normally.
