Hopefully by editing my post, I haven't violated SoftwareRevue's trademark either (period)

Dont you think those annoying ads at the top of the forum with the web hosting companies logo's use a lot more bandwidth!

Would you be willing to pay the costs of running the board so they can take the ads down? If so, go right ahead.

The avatars serve no purpose so why have them?

Neither do smilies, vBcode, and different colored fonts. Different colors don't serve any purpose, either ... let's make the board monochrome.

Personally, on my board I ban animated avatars, and avatars over 3K.

Wrong, each of those serves a purpose. So, one could argue, do avatars... but it's a question of balancing the benefits of those uses against the downsides of each, and that question has been answered here by allowing such features as vB code and smilies (both much more useful than avatars, IMO), and not allowing avatars. They were allowed here once, the overwhelming opinion was that they should be removed.

And, by the way, anyone who seriously wants the idea of bringing them back to be considered would probably have a better chance if they were to show some consideration in starting the discussion in the right forum... which would be "Suggestions and Feedback," not "Web Hosting" where we are now.

Please allow us to up 50X50 images of our company logos. They can draw people to our sites and its a nice touch. I think you should just mod the av and see if its acceptable.

That is a very nice logo you have BTW. But I agree about the avatars, the name should be enough. I think avatars make forums look like they're made for 14 year olds.

Note: This was the exact reason they were disabled in the first place.

With nearly 22,000 members and growing at a pretty steady rate of about 350/month (according to my rough calculations) and over 3,000 actives i dont think this feasable....the mods aren't paid enough to handle a forum where its members size up to be able to form a small town...

i acually must say the thing i like about WHT is the plain look. Because of its size it takes you hours to keep up with whats goin on in the forums and to have to look at all these colorful pokemon and anime icons would be annoying. Plus it would make these look like kiddy forums.

I wish the colored tables were not blue, but white.

Actually it would be nice if it was Times New Roman, no Style Sheet at all, just text.

And kill those ads, or put them at the bottom, they're boring, unstylistic and cheaply made.
