The CFM extension denotes a Cold Fusion script.

Cold Fusion is a very high-level server-side scripting language. Originally developed by Allaire, they (along with ColdFusion) were recently bought by Macromedia.

It is a decent language IMO as it's accessible to just about anyone. In fact, a large part of its appeal is that designers can use it (a great deal can be accomplished through Flash and CF interaction).

Unfortunately, it is quite expensive. I believe the prices range from anywhere between $700 to $5,000 depending on the version.

CFM is short for CFML, or Cold Fusion Markup Language (ie. what HTM is to HTML).

The best way to find out about almost everything is GOOGLE.COM

    http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...e=UTF-8&q=CFML

    CFML Language Reference says:

ColdFusion is a rapid application development system for professional developers who want to create dynamic Web applications and interactive Web sites. It provides the fastest way to integrate browser, server, and database technologies into powerful Web applications. With ColdFusion, you can build everything from online stores to sophisticated business systems.

Developing applications with ColdFusion does not require coding in a traditional programming language; instead, you build applications by combining standard HTML with a straightforward server-side markup language, the ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML). This manual documents CFML.

I wouldn't use anything else to write my Web apps.
I thank my Lord for all His wonderful blessings.
