alert was issued after an international satellite photographed a massive explosion on the surface of the Sun that sent a plume of fire 30 times longer than the diameter of Earth blasting into space.
They never took high school astronomy because:
    1. They haven't heard of flares and the sunspot cycle
    2. They're working for the Weekly World News

It did explode. But what really puzzles me is that for such an advanced civilization, why didn't all the people of Krypton build rockets or transporters to save themselves. They invented everything else? Was Jor-el the only one who had the resources?

Is the "Weekly World News" a national enquirer type thing? or is this "actual news"?

Think of it this way, if it's true and it happens you won't even know it occured. You would already be dead before you could realize it.

He's got a point... The sun is approx 7 light minutes away. Once the sun goes, if the probe sees it it will get annihilated my the solar wind probably before it can send a warning (solar wind also travels the speed of light as does the force gravity). If it did happen to send the warning before getting cooked, the wave would hit earth before the radio signal reaches earth, that is if the wave didnt wipe out all radio communication, but radio communications would be disturbed by the time we receive them and well, it would be a little late...

Anyways... Gee, a solar flare only 30 times the size of earth, that will surely ruin the sun's average... Solar flares look neat during a total eclipse.

Also, if the sun is warming as fast as that article says, the planet's average temperature would be a LOT higher than what it is now. The average temperatre has only risen roughly 4 degrees Farenheight in the past 300 years.

I wonder how many people are gonna buy this... ?

    Everything is always overheating..

It started to overheat the day it existed.

Don't mean it will blow up tomorrow though..

Judge for yourself. I'm always keen to see what BatBoy's up to. Last chance I got to read WWN was after he was captured in Afganistan, then escaped.
