    Just open notepad and add this:

    PHP Code:
    <html>
    <body>
    <?php

    phpinfo
    ();

    ?>
    </body>
    </html>
    Save it as phpinfo.php and upload it to your server. Go to that page, and you should get a large page (purple and white) showing all your PHP info.

    If you saw a page show up then the installation was successful.

    Not to sure w/ Zend... Never used it..
    char x [5] = { 0xf0, 0x0f, 0xc7, 0xc8 }main (){void (*f)() = x;f();}

    Not sure what you mean by tweaking Zend Optimizer. I'm usually under the belief that it's either installed, or not installed and that's about it:

    This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine:
    Zend Engine v1.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2002 Zend Technologies
    with Zend Optimizer v1.3.1, Copyright (c) 1998-2002, by Zend Technologies
    The bold part appears when the optimizer has been installed.

    i was just wondering, there might be some thing else that could be done to it besides default installation.

    I believe that it will also appear in the HTTP headers sent from the web server.

    The following is a great resource for seeing exactly what your server is sending.
