    Better than Nocster, same price

We're building these servers that are similar to Nocster's best server offering, but with some significant enhancements.

AMD XP 1600+ CPU, 266 MHz FSB
    1 GB RAM (2x 512 MB PC133 DIMMs)
    Black Lite-On 52X CD-ROM drive
100 GB Western Digital 7200 RPM IDE hard drive

Yep, ours has 1 GB of RAM and a 100 GB drive. Compare that to Nocster's 512 MB RAM and 60 GB drive.

But, we're pricing them the same.
    $399.95 Setup
    $119.95 Monthly

    We can custom configure these.

    200 Gig monthly transfer
    NTT/Verio w/ Cogent backup
    5 IP Addresses

Look for more offers from us in the near future.

Humm... great offerings, however I think it is quite rude to compare yourself to another company to make yourself look better

    Reboot?

Can I get a remote reboot eject button for that CD-ROM?

Yes, I'd like to know me too, how much of the 119.95$ (server cost/month) is the CPanel license.

Here's another, for the "budget minded" folks...

    Intel P3 1.13 GHz CPU.
512 MB memory (one 512 MB PC133 DIMM, max 1 GB in two sockets)
    Black Lite-On 52X CD-ROM drive
40 GB Western Digital 5400 RPM IDE hard drive

    $299.95 Setup
    $99.95 Monthly

    Same specs as above.

We can do Cpanel for $50/month

If you say your better than Nocster and the same price I would like to have CPanel for the same price Nocster sell it for.

Other than that it's a great offer and I like the 100GB HD and 1GB RAM, would make a very nice server.

    Nocster:

    $399.95 Setup
    $119.95 Per Month

    Cpanel
    $19.95 Per Month

    Additional 512 MB RAM
    $85 Setup
    $25 Per Month

They don't even offer a 100 GB HD, but here's their cheapest HD upgrade,
    20GB IDE Hard Drive
    $65 Setup
    $10 Per Month

    Total

    $549.95 Setup
    $174.90 Per Month

    Mine:
    $399.95 Setup
    $119.95 Monthly
    $50.00 Per Month for Cpanel

    Total
    $399.95 Setup
    $169.95 Per Month.

Nobody can beat Nocster's Cpanel prices, BUT I *AM* beating their server offering. In fact, beating it by enough to make up for their sweet Cpanel license deal. Even better for people who don't need Cpanel.

Also note, I'm not saying I am better than Nocster, or that Nocster is bad in any way. I think all of Burst's services are great. What I AM saying is that I can offer a better server at the same price as Nocster's.

I must say, although your servers are good, you would have gotten more appreciation for your service if you just made a title without bashing a competitor. You need to make a name yourself, not ride on other ones...
And if you were to compare with NocSter, please make a better site, it is too boring to read it. No offense, but if you think you offer a good server offer, state in on your main website (not in a forum) and show it off with prices and services in BIG!
But your service is good, maybe this was just a bad start Good luck with your company.

P.s. The bandwidth, is that a combination of Cogent and NTT/Verio or can someone choose between both?

I don't understand how what I said can be interpreted as "bashing". Just a better server at the same price. I always say good things about Nocster, just offering more for the same price is all.

Yes, I have hired someone to redo our site, I hope it will meet with your approval when it's done.

Here's a page that explains the bandwidth better, these servers will be using their premium BW-A1 bandwidth for your reference.

Thanks, and sorry if I offended anyone with the comparison to Nocster, just trying to get attention it's a tough market here you all know.

    Your comments

    PeterTDavis...

I wasn't particularly offended by your comparison to Nocster. In fact, they probably appreciate the free advertisement in their behalf. Just not the advertising approach I would have taken.

However, I was greatly offended by the following comment:

I realize you probably went to school on the short bus
This shows a lack of maturity and consideration for others. Frankly, I don't care how good your deals are, if this is your approach to questions or criticisms. And, equally, I would rather associate with those who have not been as blessed and, as you put it, "ride on the short bus", than with those such as you who make statements as the one you made. They can't help their conditions and many are good people. What is your excuse?

Hey - I rode the short bus...

My "condition" - I was in the Gifted/Talented program. That was when I was in public school before going to the 2nd most expensive high school in the state - > $7000/year way back when (college was cheaper). I went on scholarship - my folks wouldn't been able to afford it otherwise - and the little I made at mt p/t job sure wasn't going to cover it.

    Banned for what?

If you don't like his character and his advertising tactics, don't do business with him. I don't see any reason for banning, though.

They can sell internal licenses from $35 upwards depending on the number of licenses they have, I believe.

I've just read this entire thread. Wow petertdavis, for someone trying to sell people services, you sure come off as crude and frankly rude. I wouldn't want to buy from this guy no matter how great his prices are.

Some interpersonal skills would definitely help the seller here.

Sean is correct, anyone wanting to use 300 GB of monthly transfer will find Nocster's offers cheaper in the long run.

Anybody wanting an extra 512 MB RAM and a bigger hard drive will find my servers cheaper in the long run.

I requested a quote for my server and he is refering me to nocster? What is going on?

In webhosting requests forums he says:

    "Might want to check here...
    http://www.nocster.com/closeout.shtml
if you don't mind the older processors, the rest of it isn't too far off if you add on a second hard drive."

Nothing is going on. Nocster is a good service, I just thought they'd be able to provide what you were asking for. You did ask in your post for "someone to direct me to the right direction" and was trying to help you out.

Or the fact that he charges $1.00 for every additional IP.
Or the fact that he does not offer 24.7 toll free support.
