Thread: Any point?

    Any point?

Would there be any point for me to start a domain registrar? I mean would people actually come or would they stick with GoDaddy and site like that. I don't want to waste my money so I need some opinions here.

I think for a start for you to make any real money out of domains you need to expect MASSIVE sales, with companies like godaddy, enom, registerfly etc.. all already established you may have missed the boat a little.. unless you can offer something different?

It really depends on the market your selling to. If your planning on the US, I'd agree with Matt.

Although there is still profit to be made in other countries with other currencies as there would not be as much competition.

If you do a system like enom but WITH .uk support.. i would probably move my domains over and use you. I still need a central place for ALL domains ... im using 2 seperate registrars right now.

If your thinking of starting a Domain Register. I think it would be best if you have good funding for advertising your service, on a small scale depending what your prices are, you won’t make enough to live off it unless you get lots of domains registered each day.

    Just remember the costs:

Programmers, support, icann fees, nameservers, etc. Lots of startup money.

Hmm, you have a point there. I didn't realize how much money I would need.
