does the add have to be for web hosting companies, or can anyone buy an add? For example a web / multimedia design company.

Ditto on the question. It isn't against forum guidelines or anything, however I'd also like clarification on this.

Any payments that were collected have been fully refunded. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. I am not at liberty to disclose why the deal didn't go through but just that it didn't.

It was a nice idea that ended up not working out. I have requested this thread be deleted by moderators at the request of the magazine.

How did you pay him? Via Paypal? If he refunded your money, he should refund you your fee back as well.

He still has not clairified if he was getting a full page ad and trying to resell space on it.

I am sorry, but it sure looks like fraud.

Maybe contact to HostingTech.com should be done?

IP addresses and any other information will be given to the authorities if required if this is indeed fraud.

I'm sorry Akash, yours was the one that I happened to miss. It has been taken care of.

On a side note, wouldn't it have been more appropriate and definitely more professional for you to have emailed me directly letting me know that you didn't receive it instead of posting it to a public forum? I am a responsible, respectable person. As you can see it has been taken care of, all you had to do was say "hey, you missed me."

most of my money is here (part of my payment is on hold due to paypal's instant funding policy)...

I'd like a full explanation, and I still prefer this thread not to be deleted...it can be closed but not deleted!

If you were responsible you would have

    a) not edited your posts
    b) double checked your refunds
    c) refunded everyone BEFORE posting/emailing about not having the ads
    d) this was the quickest way for me to notify everyone else and i had already noticed that you had asked this thread to be deleted (very unprofessional) - i'm still wondering why you did this...

normally yes, i would handle it off forums, but once you editted your posts and asked the thread to be deleted, me posting here to let all the thread subscribers now is justifed

Further, I certainly do not appreciate being marked as fraud when the idea behind this originally was to get some smaller companies into the magazine. I didn't even mark up the spots I was actually losing money on the offer.

All money has been refunded, if anyone did pay and hasn't gotten a refund, let me know and it will be taken care of immediatly, but as far as I can tell everyone has been taken care of now.
