I am looking for help for my hosting company. I started this company with another person a half a year ago. I am managing the business, doing all the finance and business stuff. "Admin" has been doing the server admin, helping with sales and customer service. With "Admin" starting college and the company growing we need an extra hand, to reduce the work load on "Admin" and ensure that our customers receive the top quality service that they have come to expect from us.
We are a still a small (but growing) hosting company. Our help desk is generally quiet, with approximately a dozen help desk tickets a week. I personally resolve about 35% of them, and provide initial response to the others. We are currently running one Linux server, but hope to add a second Linux server soon. We have had minimal down time so far, just an hour or two here and there. The only server down time we have experienced was the result of NOC problems, or our current sysadmin not being available. I need someone to eliminate the second reason, and help me when the first occurs.
The total amount of hours put in this will be very minimal, depending upon how efficient you are. This job will entail perhaps just a couple hours per week total (though maybe more in the first week or two). However, the time will be spread across the week during your ‘on’ hours. Could be five minutes on a help desk request on Monday, ten minutes installing a script on Tuesday, a half hour updating the server on Wednesday, ten minutes setting up new accounts on Thursday, and so on. I don’t expect you to be sitting at the computer waiting to respond during those hours, but to be available if/when a request comes in and respond/resolve it within a couple of hours in most cases. (Yes, I know there are sometimes things more difficult, take longer, need my attention, but customers know this too and will be patient as long as they know we’re resolving their issue).
Depending upon our arrangement, there could be extra opportunities for income. If I need a script installed, or help developing a website you will have the opportunity to receive extra income for these extra jobs. We will negotiate these on a per-job basis.

No, I am NOT selling this company, or its customers, so don’t even ask.

Darth, which is the worse violation of forum rules? Posting to say you sent a PM, or crapping all over other people's threads? This thread was about my need to hire a Linux admin. This thread is NOT a discussion of forum rules. Please go crap on someone else's thread.
Moderators, please close this thread before other crappers start crapping.
