Now, i have the domain - www.scarisbrickonline.co.uk registered, and has nameservers set as raq172.cian-uk.net (the name of the raq), and ns2.granitecanyon.com
On the raq i have setup dns as scarisbrickonline.co.uk to 188.8.131.52 (raq's ip), and www.scarisbrickonline.co.uk to 184.108.40.206 (raq's ip).
I have also setup a virtual site on the raq as www.scarisbrickonline.co.uk
Am i right in thinking thats everything i need to do? However, when i browse to www.scarisbrickonline.co.uk it doesnt work, and when i go to www.checkdns.org, i get the error message that the dns maybe dead??
do a search on here for DNS... the trick is to set your DNS up by adding a A name..... your Raq will have a non adressable internal IP and all can run off of that .... read the Manuals given with the RAQ all the info is in there... host your DNS here www.zoneedit.com..... those will be your name servers... from your Raq to your Router... only use numbers for DNS...
You need to register your domain as nameservers.
You can do this at the place you registered your domain.
You register ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com pointing to two different IP's wich are pointing to your raq.
Then setup your raq for these nameservers.
In your case don't register raq172.cian-uk.net as a nameserver, change it to something like ns1.scarisbrickonline.co.uk - you won't be able to do the first. Be sure to set up ns1.scarisbrickonline.co.uk as a virt site on your RaQ on the primary IP address, and all should work fine.
