Help how to find and stop a runaway Exim

I either have a spammer or Exim and a sendmail script have gone nuts. Exim is eating all CPU cycles and server load shoots up to 20 from an avg of .5 I have tried to trace the PIDs but they die off and spawn more before I can get it. Anyone with an idea how to find this thing and stop it.

I kill Exim and the load drops to normal as soon as it restarts it starts over again.
