Depending on your location, speeds from fastservers [HE.net] will vary. We have servers in both datacenters - HE and NAC. Some folks get faster times from HE, while others get faster response times from NAC.

You probably want to PM a test file. Too many users hitting it at once might throw the results. Unless you want to test what a large file with many users hitting it would be. I'd think a 1 MB file should do it, then again, it's your b/w.

Rgr, just want him to get a good idea what a server with 150 domains with several large forums on it can kick out. Yes I'll PM it as Aussie bob is now "Drawing the hoards" lol, damn you scuba steve!

The server you'll be downloading from is a dual pentium 3 1ghz, gig of ram, and a 36 gig scsi boot, and 36 gig bu drive.

Plan?, its a custom server within a rack at he.net (Same location as fastservers)

I do not work for fastservers, nor would have to order from them, or wait for them to have a server available.

Build it, drive it to the building (Stop at red lobster in fremont) and then drive home.

Love cruising through the canyon with Art Bell at 2 am (AM radio program I've been listening to since 1995)

Yep, should be the same, the bandwidth port for that server is the same port speed of what you would get from a fastserver server.

You can PM ilsildur I think the user's name is.

There was a couple other "Helpful" cough sales people around here trying to "Help" me awhile ago.

Have you tried calling them? If you can't from your location, have you tried simply e-mailing them?
