Hi, I'm interested in hiring someone to go through our Windows VPS and do a bit of a tune-up and investigation to check if everything is running as well as it should be. In particular 95% of memory seems to be constantly used, mostly by perl.exe and I just want to be convinced that this isn't being caused by a problem somewhere, before I upgrade.
Just wondering if anyone provides this kind of service, or knows someone who does and is good? I'd prefer a recommendation rather than just handing over the administration login to anyone...
Cheers
Graeme

I personally don't run any Perl programs, nor Awstats, but the server has 33 domains on it, and perhaps some of the sites run Perl, I can't be sure without checking through all their coding...
What would be good is a way of working out if that usage is coming from any domain in particular.
Cheers

If its a plesk server, its caused by the awstats program while running the plesk stats update using statisctics.exe
Next time when you see this, confirm whether statistics.exe is running along with perl.exe

It's a contstant problem, but neither Awstats or statistics.exe are running. I'll keep hunting.

Could be a vulnerable script as well.
