dah.

Looking good so far. I have a couple of suggestions:

Tone down the bright yellow on your nav bar.
Please, Please, Please switch out of that hideous Times font, Times font is a BIG no-no. Try a arial, helvetica combo.

Here's some quick impressions. First, I didn't immediately realize that the centerpiece of your site is the search engine. When I first loaded the site I glanced over the search area, figuring it was just another one of those "search this site" type deals. You should definitely put some big bold text or graphic that indicates what the thing is; the tiny text and the gray title bar aren't cutting it.

Also when I loaded your site my subconscious saw the flashing animated graphic at the top and said "ignore it--it's a banner ad." So I didn't realize it was talking about *your* site until after I really started looking.

One more thing, I'm not clear on why there are two search boxes on your home page; are they the same or not? I can't tell.

The actual search engine works well by the way... very nice.

First thing: spell "celebrities" correctly. It's spelled wrong in your animated GIF, your drop-down menu, etc... (it is spelled correctly on your left nav, though).

I'd get rid of the Animated GIF all-together.

Since your two search boxed on the first page look similar, you might want to either get rid of the one on the left nav (and just use it for subpages) or make the one on the right an advanced search.

You probably don't need a guestbook AND a forum.

Fontwise, I'd suggest going with Verdana.

Otherwise, it's nice and simple. Definitely on the right track. Will the image previews be working soon?

Post Following changes were made

Thanks for the comments, some of them have already been implemented. Such as the fonts, dropping the search box from the side navigation on the front page and few others.

I'm trying to redesign the banner for the site right, I was mostly using it as a place holder for a "real" advertising banner that would take its place at a later point.

The preview images should be avaliable for nearlly all of the images outside of the CD Covers section. If you ran a search in other section and didn't see any preview images come up, please drop me an e-mail with the url of the search query.

Once again thanks for the suggestions, much appriciated.

Ah... the section I looked at primarily was the CD covers.

I look forward to using the final, final version of the site. Looks like a keeper!
