    (Im from W.Mids - now live in San Francisco)

    although the best pic they have on bbc.co.uk is a pile of bricks from a chimney with caution tape around it

    Sure, but in UK terms thats massive. We're not exactly in what you call an "earthquake zone" so for us this is pretty shocking.

    4.5 on the scale ? that's no earthquake .. it's a tremour

    we have them regularly no-one pays any attention to tremours, they can make the coffe mug tip over .. most annoying

    BBC were on it from the word go! I had 5Live on when it happened and they experienced the tremor live, a split second before we did. All the subsequent news reports were collated from listener emails/texts etc to inform of them of where the shock had been felt etc.

    the earth doesn't have parkinsons, it had a football final the night before
