    @ Webhosting.net we use PhpLive.

Never had a problem with it, you can get it served from them or you can buy the source code solution. I would recommend it.

    PHP Live Help

I've tried PHPLiveSupport and am now trying PHPLiveHelp from TurnKeyWebTools .

They seem almost identical in every fashion except price. PHPLiveSupport charges $99 a year license fee and TurnKeyWebTools charges $79 lifetime license.

php live from http://www.phplivesupport.com is all we need. The admin interface could be better but the price is very cheap and the product younger than humanclick and other competitor.

Best to do is to try 30 days several product that's fit your need.

Focus on cost per operator. Other solution go quickly for us to 150$ - 300 $ month.

    Hi ptww.net

How is your test drive going with TurnKeyWebTools?

Can you please give us some feedback on that it looks pretty good to me too.

    thanks

This may be a little off topic, but does anybody know a free live support solution. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, as long as it isn't Humanclick (provided free by Bravenet). I've found humanclick to be very slow...

Otherwise I might consider spending a little money on this (the $79 lifetime sounds good, might take the Turnkey thingy for a test drive).

    Thumbs up

I have been trying the free version of Get 1 on 1
So far have been happy. I miss the real trime tracking features and knowing if someone is in your site or not but it is free with no strings attached and no hoops to jump through.

I am going to check out phplivesupport, because it is web based and I am not always at home to operate my business, the web based feature would allow me to get those hits from the site while at my full time gig, and might help drum up my business. And that in my book is all good.

I have just installed the phplivesupport to test, I like it seems very simple and with the webbased interface I can access this from anywhere. For me that is a good thing. Being that during the normal business day I am at work doing my full time gig it could help get me some sales.

groopz.com is easily the best, and more than likely the most expensive too

I would recommend the TurnkeyWebTools product over all the rest for a few reasons. One phplivesupport charges per year... if you ask me thats unreasonable. If you look at phplivehelper you only pay once and you get upgrades for FREE. I thnk you have to pay for the upgrades for phplivesupport.

    Check it out

If you're still looking for a free live chat, there's Live Presence, found at http://www.cybrens.com. It's basically what you would expect from a free solution; not very feature-packed but decent enough to use if you're on a shoe-string budget.

Scott, I just looked at their site, they offer a 14 day free trial, but no mention of that particular service being free at all, as a matter of fact their is a link for pricing information also. So not only is it not free they don't tell you how much it costs like the competitors who are at least straight up with the costs.

Not entirely true. I say they are "free" for a couple of different reasons:

    1. They advertise themselves (the last time I looked, which was just before my previous post in this thread) on other sites and software download sites as being completely free. No "free to try" or "free for 14 days"...just "free".

    2. I know of two other people who have used Live Presence indefinitely without being contacted that they had to pay for anything. The software or the server chat log-in doesn't expire at all after 14 days or even 30 or 60 days, and there are no pop-ups or messages at all that mention that you have to pay or subscribe.

So, either only brand new users are told to subscribe, or Live Presence does a non-existant job of enforcing this new "14 day" policy.

we have phplivesupport or is it phplivechat or what ever (the one that charges 99 dollars per year).

Come on guys, 99 dollars a year? If you make only one sale out of that it should already pay for itself.

The upgrades seem to be free (thats what the 99 dollars a year is for).

We have not tryed any other solutions because we've never said "Oh we need this feature that we cant find in here".

    Thumbs up Phplivesupport Rules

In reply to your post of best chat software. I have to say its thumbs up to phplivesupport. Its easy to use and customise, whilst easy to access. Now with there winapp (the downloadable version) you don't need to use the browser. It stays in your systray. The only problem is for winapp you need the .net frmeowrk which is a hefty 11mb download. But its worth it.

Check out the admin interface of PHP Live Helper... http://www.phplivehelper.com/ : Very cool and very fast. I would recommend this over all because its $99.99 one time fee... you cant beat that. Aslo accessable through http://www.turnkeywebtools.com/

    Talking Answer chat...

Hi folks - Thought I'd chime in here.

I just recently discovered, and am trying out Answer Chat.

So far so good. Seems alot like human click, but only about $20 a month.

PHP Live! Support is hands down the BEST live support solution out there and their customer service is better than anything i've seen, if you have a problem they reply real fast, and if you need installation on your servers they do that too.

    my little but :)

As everyone knows, a good chat script costs a lot of money.

We were thinking of using phpLiveChat ( http://www.phplivechat.com/ ), but then re-discovered the chat system by Kayako. ( http://www.kayako.com/ )
We're going to be using Kayako, ourselves since we find them nicely priced (and slightly better than PHPLive! we think).

We'd recommend phpLiveChat if you are on a low-budget one time fee; otherwise we'd recommend LiveResponse by Kayako if you're wanting something that bit more for that bit less.

Funny thing; I can't tell the difference between that and phpLivechat ( http://www.phplivechat.com/ )
...Except one thing really; phpLivechat is a lot cheaper if you're gonna use it long term.

Anyone know of any ASP chat products???

The ones I have found are not NEARLY as feature driven as the PHP products (I guess that tells us something)...

    Zen,

Thanks for the relpy, I already had seen the ASP chat programs you mentioned, unfortunately they are ASP programs for group chats vs. a one-to-one chat which is needed in this case...

Plus another thing, if you want a really good ASP live support thing I'd recommend your own. I don't think you can find many in ASP and a second thing it may be cheaper if you make your own.
Even try www.rentacoder.com/ and hire someone to make it for you?

Please dont make the mistake of using PhpLive. Our company used it for about 9 months and had problems with getting disconnected from users randomly. We are now using Help Center Live. www.helpcenterlive.com Search for it, here. Anyways, it is working great and the Winapp ($30) is a must. It is reliable, although a little less user friendly than PhpLive Support. Dont be won over just by site design...

Clickchatsold - Fantastic chat I have experienced till now.
Slow net connections sometimes timeout phplivechat.. but I have experienced 100% connectivity and uptime with clickchatsold also known as CCS without rebooting my machine for almost 58 days.
Well i had to reboot my machine after that
    Truely idol for hosting business..
Five stars for CCS - http://clickchatsold.com

  38. I just installed Help Center Live and the Winapp on one of my sites. It's great! I highly recommend it.
