Does anybody know of any Control Panels (not WHM) that let you install AND uninstall Front Page extensions?

Thanks-

I do not see why this would be a huge issue, FP extensions can be simply deleted by deleting _* and .htaccess

hehe

Frontpage extensions cause more problems, save yourself the trouble, if you have cPanel (at least the site5 version) lets you remove them, I don't think the client can though. Just have your customer email you, it will save you lots of headache rather then have them mess it all up, which is very easy to do.

If it were up to me Front Page would be illegal to use on the Net but lots of people use it and since its always getting screwd up I figure it would be good to let the client be able to uninstall/reinstall themselves.

What brought this up is a person I work with wanted to be able to do that on his account, so I guess you could say its a real world example of the average users needs.

I use FrontPage on an offline copy of the site and upload with the control panel. Works good for me. Might be an alternative for your clients. However, I feel like many of you, FrontPage is not going to touch my site. Been there.

Just delete all of the _* folders (don't forget subdirectories) and then also the /usr/local/frontpage/www.domain.com:80.cnf file.

You could probably write a system to allow clients to remove the _* directories themselves... but not the /usr/local/frontpage (without a bit more work), as it's not owned by them.

Regards,
Matt
