If Donhost have charged your credit card for the money, you could try to do a charge back, as you are paying for something you have not ordered. Double check to see who else has access to your account.

If you try a charge back, maybe Donhost will close yoru resellers account, so thats something to bare in mind, if you are hosting many sites.

    There responsibility

    Hi,

A third party has obtained the password for your reseller account. They
will have done this by viewing the source code of one of your PHP pages
which contains the password for your database, which is also the
    password for your control panel.

Using this password, they have logged into your control panel and
purchased one or more domain names which were charged to your credit
card. We have cancelled these orders and refunded your credit card.

To ensure that this does not happen again, you must move remove the
mySQL database from your main reseller account, replacing it with a
mySQL database on one of your sub accounts. This way your mySQL database
will have a different username and password to your main reseller
control panel. You should also change the password for your reseller
account and ensure that no other settings within it have been tampered
    with.

If you require any additional information or we can be of any further
assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind Regards,

    Dan Conlon

    Hi,

Had the same problem last December with a domain being registered.

Donhost said it was ordered through my control panel and registered in my name. They said someone it my organisation must have used my password! As I'm a one person organisation it was impossible! Luckily it only cost me 41.00 (ish)

Anyway moved away from Donhost, Very Happy now

Wow....this is just one of the bad aspects of the internet. Its so easy to lose money. Someoen cracks your password and your screwed out of 350 bucks. Good thing Donhost was kind enough to give it back but normally most places you would be screwed.

One thing to stay away from that has already screwed me out of over 500 dollars.... PAYPAL

Yes, in the new version of our control panel which is currently in the development process, the customer is required to enter a PIN number at the point of any purchase they make.

Providing they don't divulge both their password and their PIN number, customers will not have any problems with others purchasing items on their account. Passwords are often given to other people in the organisation, or stored in places such as Internet Explorer's cache or the database of an FTP client, both of which can be trivial to crack in order to obtain the password. The PIN number on the other is used for no other purpose and as such it is unlikely that it will be subject to the same problems.
