I just bought a MacBook (yay!) and I'm wondering how should I setup my NAS?
Currently, my NAS supports both NFS and SMB, and I know I can mount both just fine. From what I researched, NFS is more native to OSX, because NFS is kind of the UNIX standard for networked shares, and OSX is more or less built from a variant of BSD. But since I also have Windows machines on the network, I'd likely still need the SMB service enabled on the NAS so those machines can access the shared drive.
So, the question is, which one -- NFS or SMB -- should I use on my MacBook, and why is it better?
