You know it's time to find a new job when...

A published report said several directors at AOL Time Warner want to fire founder and Chairman Steve Case.

on that note I think AOL's cash cow is going to run dry over the next few years with DSL becoming more available everywhere..

AOL users should be licensed to use the Internet. That will solve our contempt for AOL.

AOL going out of business? Never. Just think, even though DSL and Cable are more popular (in my opinion), ISP's are quickly converting their services and offering high speed. Look at MSN. They keep touting their DSL service all over their web site. And Prodigy was just bought out by SBC Yahoo and guess what they are going to start selling? High speed access. Those companies know that the business is in high speed, they'll just switch to that as well. 56K is probably close to being dead. But there are some people that will still use it. And I know many people that use AOL because they love being told "You've got mail".

AOL also owns ICQ, Netscape, and WinAmp. Just to name a few. And each time they purchased one of the above companies/applications, it went down the tube. I considered each of these listed great at one point. Then AOL got into the picture.

Winamp's still wonderful. Then again, I haven't tried 3.0 yet.

It depends. Everyone is entitled to continue to use these programs and that is all fine. I was just expressing my feeling towards the company AOL in general. I personally don't use any of those programs but again, that's just my preference.
