Hello
Please recommend (or warn against) a company for off-site backups.
I really just want lots of diskspace, and FTP access.
But, I am not opposed to other means to the end.
I need a new method,
As my current one seems... bad.
WHM automatically generating daily backups of all accounts
Via FTP to a 3rd-party shared hosting account.

Does your hosting provider (or dedicated server provider) offer a service for off-site backups? I generally prefer to stick with the same company for everything, especially if you are happy with them

I like to keep things separate in case something happens.
What if the company goes away?
Or the data center catches on fire, lol?
But, to answer your question, I don't know.
(Just them asked out of curiosity)

Hmm, would something like BQBackup work? They may be rsync only, though. (Anyone from BQBackup able to comment?)

Yes, they are rsync only. I don't think it matters to the OP if it's rsync though.

I only need around 50 GB right now...

I shot them an email...
I'm not terribly interested at this point.

The "No Refund" policy has scared me away.

Hi Mike,
Rsync is the recommended method, but the accounts are also accessible via FTP, SFTP, and SCP. Samba mounts are available by request.

I heard rsync is very resource intensive.

Have you looked at rsync 3.0.5 yet? It supports incremental file lists, which makes backup way faster than before.

Sorry to hear that but you got to understand that they alot peoples out they buy the software then don't need it no more and I refund they money then they still use it. That why I give 7-day trial of the script before they buy it.
