Hi Comunity
We know the problem with geekstorage that their vps nodes are oversold.
well,,, i asked for a refund for the months i havent use yet, and they wont refund me, they just say that i will get credit, but i think it is not fair he can not hold my money for a service that has not been provided yet, im not asking for a full refund, just for the months i prepaid
i have 268 dollars in favor, i offer a deal to jay to just refund me 218 dollars instead of 268, and now he is not responding my tickets i have been waiting more than 24 hours to get a response
Do not prepay VPSes!

Hi:
Have you checked the TOS to ensure you are entitled to a refund?
Regards

We know the problem with geekstorage that their vps nodes are oversold.Do you have any evidence to prove this point? Blaming a host for overselling without evidence can affect their reputation too.

Put yourself in their shoes, it is fair and square. If everybody prepays for a year and does not want their service anymore, and expect the remaining sums to be refunded, won't they be making a loss instead, cause they are offering a lower price usually for long term payments.
i have 268 dollars in favor, i offer a deal to jay to just refund me 218 dollars instead of 268, and now he is not responding my tickets i have been waiting more than 24 hours to get a responseThats not a deal at all. And besides, after office hours, don't expect a reply anytime soon.
Do not prepay VPSes!Not only VPS....
in september, i need to wait for a response from jay i think i will use the creditIf you prepaid for a year, and you had already passed their 60 days refund policy, so I don't think you are entitled a refund. That should be the standard for almost any company out there, not just GeekStorage.

You may want to check their refund policy. Most VPS companies (no matter of payment term) have a no-refund policy. Make sure that this isn't the case.

Even if VPS is allowed for refund, their 60days refund policy is already over, since OP started on September.

A lot of you have already covered this point, but I'll make a brief reply here to let everyone know what I've already told this customer several times over the last week.
Our policy regarding refunds is clearly outlined in our Terms of Service you agree to upon signing up. When you prepay with us, you receive a substantial discount off of the monthly rate. To prepay comes with a small risk that you may not want to complete your service term with us, but you are rewarded with this risk by the substantial discount you receive.
If you don't want to prepay, we offer monthly billing terms on every service we sell.
This customer was offered and accepted credit for the unused portion of his remaining term with us, which he can use to purchase any service we offer.
This isn't fine print and it's clearly outlined in the Refunds section of our Terms of Service, which is presented to you in full during checkout and which you must click "I AGREE" before continuing in the checkout process.
I'm sorry you don't like our policy and I do wish you the best in the future.

And just a side note on refunds for those looking. Even if a host agrees to give you a refund typically it has to go through channels other than just the support person that authorised it. Unless you are dealing with 1 man shows it can take a week or two to get accounting in order and get it back to you.
If you agreed to no refunds though then you should be happy with the credit you were offered.

my advice is for you to look at the law in usa(i assume geekstorage is located there) and see if you have the right to get the whole amount back, if their not willing to give you the money back. remember a law always stays over companies terms.
