GeoTrust FreeSSL Site, Chained SSL product ($25) is the same as InstantSSL
GeoTrust signed an agreement with Baltimore technology to offer chained ssl certs (same cert as comodo instantSSL - chained to the same Baltimore Root) from the freessl.com web site. The certs will retail for $25 a year starting Oct 1st..
I think this gives the low priced segment a great chained cert alternative...

Is it compatible with IE 5.x & NS 4.x ?
or just IE 5.01 and up ??
Please tell me, as the price is very interesting, not just for me, but for my clients too!

Since it uses the Baltimore Root as the trust cert, it will have same compatibility as the InstantSSL cert from Comodo, which is:
IE 5.00+
NS 4.x+
Opera 5+

Thanks for the responses here and on FreeSSL.com... We are seeing quite a few folks get our chained certs for $25 (the same certs that Comodo sells on their site for $49!!). However, the freeSSL certs are still the most popular on freessl.com.....

What about verification. The last cert I went to buy Comodo gave me a tad bit of hassle.
$25 is a great price, esp for a Baltimore chained cert.L. James Prevo - President/Owner
