Hi,
I have a friend who currently has 2 of his Computer Support websites hosted with 1and1 and has Google Analytics setup as well as having a very high google ranking etc.
He no longer wants to be on 1and1. He has asked about moving to my hosting which I supply using WHM.
Will moving his site affect his Google Rank and Google Analystics, stats etc? He doesn't want to move if its going to cause his site to be pushed far down the google ranks etc.
Would like to know what people think about this.
Thanks

Changing hosts should has no effect on your google pagerank from my experience.

Nope it shouldn't, the transition should be fairly flawless.
Have him create a full backup and then restore it at the new host - then setup the name servers on the domain and within 72 hours everyone should be resolving to the new host.

If the site content is the same and the IP is in the same country, then i can't see any valid reason why the google rank would be effected.

Realistically as long as the same content can be accessed by the same URL you will be fine. Just make sure there's no extended downtime and there won't be any issues at all.
