Hi,
Its not exactly a domain request. I am looking for suggessions from you people. I have a .net domain since 2004. I am looking for its .com version which is lying parked on register.com for last 2-3 years. Its whois info is also private and gives a domaindiscreet.com e-mail address. So I am guessing that although the original owner has abandoned it, the registrar has not made it free yet. When I try to register it through "register.com", it gives me the option to "Make an Offer on
x***********". Clicking on that button redirects me to: www.afternic.com which asks for $59 as registration and then they will assist me in getting that domain by forwarding my bid to the owner.
My simple question is: will it work?
-Regards,
Akash

The original owner didn't abandon it, they simply have it parked or arn't using it at the moment. Afternic wants $59 just to sign up with their service to get them to broker the name for you. Depending on what the domain is.. you could end up spending thousands of dollars if you go that route. You're better off contacting the domaindiscreet.com email and seeing what they have to say.

I would suggest emailing the email listed on the whois. From my understanding whois privacy services will still forward on the emails to the registered owner.
Good luck.

It seems the domaindiscreet is unable to forward it to the owner. The mail is bouncing back.
