    Hello
Presently, my site is hosted at ICDsoft business shared account
And my site is hosted on "two Quad-core Xeon processors, 8 GB RAM and a multi-terabyte RAID 6 disk array."
I am planning on moving away from a shared account.
My site is an ecommerce site and my budget for a new server is around $100-$150 per month.
Should i transfer to a VPS or Dedicated server ?
I need a Full/complete managed server, either it be VPS or Dedicated. I dont want to get involved in setting up, securing etc. the server. I would like a Control Panel, be it Cpanel or any other with Linux System.
Also, my main concern is, how much bandwidth should be good for an ecommerce site with around 20,000 unique visitors per month, around 500,000 hits per month
I am looking into the following companies which provides VPS and Dedicated solutions:
    1). Liquidweb
    2). DedicatedNOW
    3). Wiredtree
Are there any other companies i should look into ?
Which company would be the best in terms of service and support response time ? Im spoiled by ICDSoft's quick response time
Also, How much RAM would be good, since most VPS solutions have 512 to 786 MB ram?
How many Cores- Dual, Quad ?

I would say a VPS if it's just e-commerce site. I don't feel it to be nessecary to jump to a dedicated just yet.
For response time, I would say Wiredtree or someone like that (like the ones on your list).
I would say 512MB of RAM+, but it depends, are you going to have a control panel? How many hits do you get? etc.
As for cores, it shouldn't matter too much. The bigger the better.

Maybe 786MB RAM then, or 512MB with a 1024MB Burst.
    Remember, you can always upgrade.

Shaun, what is the difference between Burst and normal ram ?
Also, would 786 MB ram be able to handle around 100,000 unique visitors per DAY

I'd recommend Liquidweb. Never went the route of a VPS, however their dedicated server offerings and network are rock solid and backed by amazing phone/ticket support.

Normal RAM is what you're guaranteed to get on your VPS.
Burstable RAM is what you can get upto if there are avaliable resources on the server for it.
Maybe, as I said, start off there, you can always upgrade.

    So one recommendation for LiquidWeb
    and one recommendation for Wiredtree
I think, ill start off with VPS with 1 GB RAM. How does that sound ?
Liquidweb VPS premium starts from $100. (this includes 1 Gb RAM)
Wiredtree VPS768 starts off from $70 ( This includes 768 MB RAM)

1GB should be okay, just remember to optimize Apache and MySQL so you can get all the performance you need out of the VPS.

I need a managed server, i really dont need to be doing all the security, optimizations etc to my server.
Liquidweb said that there servers are fully managed if I buy a control panel.

@net, i would like to keep my costs low, if i can get a server within $100, that would be great.
Was browsing Wiredtree's site. i noticed they provide Hybrid Servers starting from $99.00.
Now how does Hybrid compare to VPS? There are so many sub-divisions, whats what ?
