CPanel5/SpamAssassin Bug

Turns out it isn't me. I've already spoken with another collegue of mine (running another hosting site) and have just confirmed this with another host as well.

The Problem: When UPGRADED to the latest build of CPanel (currently in the build 50's), if SpamAssassin is enabled, all email is BOUNCED from the client's mailbox. Not just Spam.. ALL EMAIL. Period.

This was mentioned by a client, confirmed to be happening on all accounts and now confirmed to be happening with other hosts. My question is how many of you are expiriencing this problem (you may want to test this, because it came as a surprise to the second host i contacted) and 2) is there a known fix?

Thank you all. OH, and yes, myself and the other host who mentioned this to me have BOTH contacted CPanel about this (i have contacted them over a week ago) and little reply.

hey PHPcoder, people are posting stating they are looking for someone at edge-host.com that the server's been down for a long time. Are you guys down? If not, can you tell the poster that all is cool?

I've noticed this too. At least 1 client server was affected by this.

Also, i've noticed in the past few months, CPanel + redhat 7.3 had a few DNS issues (/etc/named.conf being generated with no key, so DNS wont start) and misc other DNS bugs.

Also, i've noticed as of yesterday, the CPanel default nameservers stopped responding (to our network at least), and 3-4 client servers were affected by this and ended up going down (couldn't verify cpanel key).

P.S. Anybody know of a fix, besides turning it off?

'Coder, cool. I noticed that and came back here to edit my post, but you caught it before I got to it.

Kudos to your efforts though.

Just a question, do the emails appear in your /home/username/mail/domain.com/mailaccount/ directory? I have noticed this problem on several of our CPanel accounts lately, where all the mail went to the default box, but was also stored in that directory. The fix I did (and I read about it on the CPanel forums) was to delete that directory and the one in /home/username/etc/domain.com . Instead of deleting the one in the mail directory, I moved it, then I ran the /scripts/convertemails5 . I then concatenated the two inbox files using cat. I had not noticed if the accounts were using SpamAssassin or not. Would be interested in knowing if it only affects accounts that were using SpamAssassin.

Darn it, another C Panel bug! Maybe I'll switch to Ensim. Anybody every switch from C Panel to Ensim?

Aussie Bob, thank you.. yes, i checked out the Cpanel forums and it turns out most EVERYONE is having this problem. Lovely. And chrisb, YES, i would love to switch to ANYTHING other than CPanel, but clients love CPanel so I bend over backwords to make it seem like it's the best thing on the planet

Here's the link of the thread as CPanel. I encourage you all to post:
http://forums.cpanel.net/read.php?TID=4517

Apparently, they said it was fixed in build 20. BUILD 20!!?? I'm running build 60, which was released, oh, 3 hours ago and still nothing. I would appreciate any feedback on this as I will not quit, but will perservere to make sure this is resolved.
