I was wondering if there is a place where I can get a cPanel VPS license for a one time fee. One of my customers with a VPS are looking for this, as they prefer not to pay month by month.

You may check out DirectAdmin. They do give Life Time licenses. Its economical and quite comparable to cpanel.

Actually DA is BETTER! Does everything that cPanel can do, but more simply. And DA's reseller panel is MUCH BETTER than the beast that is WHM. WHM is cluttered, difficult to navigate, and sometimes confusing. Everything a panel SHOULD NOT be!

The simplicity of DA is of course nice but the features do lack.

And thats why DA is not as good as cPanel! (figure it out yourself )

cPanel got rid of one time licenses a while back for dedicateds so its definitly not possible to get it for VPS or dedicated now

What do you mean by that. What I said was everything that I CAN do in cPanel, I CAN do in DA, so that doesn't show me any limitations that are in DA.
If you know of something that can be done in cPanel but CAN'T be done in DA, please let me know.

Its because what you need in cPanel is available in DA!

I already knew that and stated that in my first post. Another user said that DA lacked features that cpanel had and I challenged them to list them.

I wouldn't say that DA lacks cPanel features, but many end-clients prefer cPanel (IMO) for its familiarity.
