LP - users apache

Hello,
I have installed LP on my system, but I have one problem...
The sites main apache runs well, but I can't get the users apache to start.
The two should be run from different ports?
Can some help me please with a solution.
Thank you in advance!

If your trying to start multiple apache daemons on the same port, they are not going to run at all.

not true, you can config each to listen on a different ip address, which would allow multiple instances.
i fail to see the reason why you would want to do that though.

Ok thanx for your reply.
So I would need two ip addresses? Is it possible with just one? vbmenu_register("postmenu_5471206", true);

If you want to run two instances of apache, you need to either have them listening on different ports, or listening on different ip addresses.

What error do you get when you try:
# /etc/init.d/httpd-users stop ; /etc/init.d/httpd-users start
In the LP sandbox, if you do a restart instead of doing stop and start manually on httpd-users, it should/will error out.

this is the error i get:
Code:

emenace:/# /etc/init.d/httpd-users stop ; /etc/init.d/httpd-users start
Stopping web server: Apache2httpd (pid 3469?) not running
.
Starting web server: Apache2(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 74.222.3.254:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
So there must be something else using the port right?
When I turn lp off, and do netstat -lnp i get:
Code:
Active Internet connections (only servers)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address Stat e PID/Program name
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:649 0.0.0.0:* LIST EN 1739/rpc.statd
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:111 0.0.0.0:* LIST EN 1714/portmap
tcp 0 0 74.222.3.254:80 0.0.0.0:* LIST EN 1121/apache2
tcp 0 0 74.222.3.254:21 0.0.0.0:* LIST EN 3118/pure-ftpd (SER
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:631 0.0.0.0:* LIST EN 1977/cupsd
so apache is using port 80?...when i have turned LP off. How can I fix this?

Get rid of the Apache outside the LayeredPanel's sandbox.

# rpm -e httpd --nodeps

Edit: Make sure you run that outside the chroot.

I'll have a look; probably an easy fix. Send me a PM with your contact details.
