Host Recommendations Please....

Hello -
Glad to be a member here. Let me cut to the chase... We are sick and tired of our current Host and looking to move all our sites and vbulletin Forum.
That said, we are seeking Host recommendations; reliable, polite, prompt, answer phones, get back to you, 24/7 PHONE SUPPORT, etc.
Thanks!

What type of budget do you have in mind?
How much disk space and bandwidth do you need?
How many are on your forums at a time?
Answering those questions, will help everyone find the right provider for you.

he was trying to help by analyzing what you need so he can recommend something, if we don't know how much you are willing to spend and how active your forum is, we can't really recommend anything.
and if its a small site just get a shared hosting package from someone and try, see how their support is first by contacting the company - doesn't matter what company - and then decide if they are fit to host you

There are many answers to this. You can try some names and run a search to see what people have said here.

First, I would narrow it down by OS. I would recommend going with a hosting provider that only offers the OS you work with so that their entire support department will be specialists on that OS. This helps when contacting a companies’ 24/7/365 support department. Choosing a hosting provider that specializes in your OS will prevent situations such as queuing up in the "Windows" support queue while their "Linux" support queue is empty or vice versa. Yes, hosting providers that offer support for multiple OS's have engineers in support 24/7/365 but instead of having 2 or more Windows support engineers on staff at a time that can work together to resolve an issue for example, they may only have 1 Windows and 1 Linux engineer or vise versa; which may not be able to provide that type of team effort advantage.
Simply narrowing it down to an OS specific search such as “Best Windows Hosting Provider (example)” will help you filter out a lot of the incompatible results in your search.
Good luck!

Agreed... you will need to decide if you and your people will be smart enough to know the difference between runnin Winders on your desktop and Linux on the web servers, and then if you want to hang with all the cool kids runnin LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) or the dorkus's runnin their never heard of it before ASP CMS!

"all our sites" could mean five or fifty, but if it's not an enormous number, and your forum is not too busy, a small reseller package might do the trick for you. You might try InnoHosting, for example.

For once I can say "I'd suggest looking in the shared hosting offers forums" for a host that concentrates on the things you need and a budget that is reasonable for whatever your requirements are (you still haven't said) they could be huge or could be quite reasonable as was said depending on how many "all your sites" means and the size and activity of your VB.
