Future Hosting vs KnownHost
I am currently with KH and have nothing, but good things to say about them. Their support is good, service is good....blah...blah...blah...
Unfortunately, I have come to a point where I have to upgrade my RAM, which my budget won't allow. Hence I have decided to move to some other host. I have gone through reviews of Future Hosting, and they I am yet to see a negative review about them. Further, their offers seems better compared to KH. But I am most concerned with Service and Support.
Can anyone, who has been with KH and FH, compare your experience with them?
What is their usual support ticket response time? With KH, it is around 20 mins.

I wonder how much you are spending currently? And how much will you need for upgrading RAM? If you are happy with KH, you should stay. Try to explain to them to work out something.

I am currently paying $44/month, ie their VPS L with 256MB Ram upgrade and Plesk.
I would like to upgrade to 1GB ram and that will cost me about $64.
Whereas, FH offers a better spec for around $30 with their current offer.
But I am still doubtful because of the universal truth, "You get what you pay for".
Had they offered a money back guarantee, I would have certainly tried them.

I've been with both of them before. If you want to know about their support and service, I think they both have good support and quick response time.

Just keep in mind that Future Hosting allocates RAM via the SLM method, which means you get 1GB and not a megabyte more. On the other hand, Knownhost offers a guaranteed allocation and a burstable allocation.

Anything equal to or less than what I am currently paying ($44) is good.

I am not sure of the difference between UBC and SLM. But the poll here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/poll.p...ts

You may already be aware of this, but with SLM, once you hit 1GB of memory usage, processes will start to get killed off to stay within that limit. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just something to be aware of. (check your userbeancounters and see whats the highest you've used)
I too think SLM is better, because knowing you can always use the amount you paid for is better and more stable.

I recon guaranteed and burstable is a better system. That way you can have a little "safety net" but if at any time you are getting close, you should upgrade it just to be safe.
