Fail over web hosting account solutions

I need some idea how can I implement fail-over web hosting with 2 cpanel account on a separate server to get 100% uptime.
It has frequent database update (1 mysql db) and files uploaded from ftp time to time.
Is rsync is the solution?

It seems impossible if you have ordinary cpanel web hosting accounts.
You need root access to 2 servers to setup simplest cluster.

drdb or rsync. All depends on the application and the data that you are hosting. You will also need to look for a DNS service for load balancing and failover. Its pretty far out there to do all that in that type of setup but it could be done.

It can can be done with help of drbd and heartbeat. But you need to play with cPanel a bit to get its settings synced between primary and slave servers.

Are the servers on two different hosts (to provide geographic security)? This creates an interesting situation. Getting the DNS set up properly wouldn't be too hard (I'm no expert in DNS, so I'll let someone else handle that.) As far as syncing the servers go... rsync would be one option, but with frequent SQL updates, if one server became unreachable and the users were forwarded to the backup, you could run into some problems with data integrity. Just something to consider as you plan this out.

Shouldn't be too hard with cpanel, just need to know the sh*t.
Rsync files, mysql replicate DB.
Sounds easy, time consuming to setup however.

You don't need to setup MySQL DB replication. This can be handled by drbd+heartbeat.
