Counter-strike Serv requirements

Hi, im planning on hosting one server and i want it to be 512 fps. Can someone tell me if a 2.4 ghz computer with 1.5 gb of ram and maybe 1 mbps of upload can handle 32 player pub 512 fps? If not what would the counter-strike server specs be? The server will have little addons. Just normal gameplay with AMX Mod X.
This is counter-strike based on the HL1 Engine

I don't think a 1mbps uplink will be enough for 32 players. The 2.4GHz CPU should be fine if you're running it at 33tick (should be fine for a public server at 32 slots because you would never see 100tick with that many players on the server and even 66 tick would struggle most of the time).
I would just keep an eye on the uplink as it also depends on the players rates which you can limit in the server configuration file. Just keep an eye on it, but I'm sure that sort of machine will run the server fine
Edited to add: Also, what Operating System are you planning to run this server on? If Linux make sure that you have a kernel that will run it at 512fps where as windows you should be fine with the realtime thingy that I can't remember the name of :p

That server will happy run the server you're looking to host Aswell as a voice server. I reccomend mumble as it's free and open-source with great features If you need any more help with anything, PM me!

I just want a server for my small gaming network . So you think i can host a boosted 512 fps 32 slot? Or at least 28 slot?

Yeah, you'll be able to run that fine on there Just monitor loads and bandwidth usage. One question, to make it clear is it 1.5 mega bit upload equivalent to 192kbps or 1.5mbps of bandwidth equivalent to about 50GB of bandwidth?

Ok then yeah it will be the first thing I said. Well, you'll have to check whether your ISP allows the running of servers on the connection plus you'll have to work out whether you have a dedicated or dynamic IP system. Do you know whether you have a dedicated IP or not?

Ok well, the fact you have a static/dedicated is a good thing, makes it a lot easier for you. Just make sure that your ISP is 100% ok with you running it on your connection. I assume you know how to open ports on your router (if you're using a router) ?

Yes of course. So i was planning on boosting it to at least 256 fps and making it 32 slot. Would it be good enough? I actually got 1.7 mbps at speedtest.net and i wanted to remove some since i surf the web too

That will be fine Good luck with your new server! Let me know of the IP when it's running and I'll take a look even though my ping would be REALLY bad on a home hosted US server
