Payment processor online escort advertising agency
I urgently need some good advice on finding a payment processor for and online advertising agency for independent escorts.
I have looked through most of the threads on this forum, and although there are many recommendations for the adult industry, most payment processors - even high risk processors - don't want to work with sites related to the escort industry.
The website sells advertising space to independent escorts in the UK (other countries to follow depending on the legal aspects in each country regarding advertising such services). The payments to process are made by the escorts that want to advertise their services. The business has no involvement in any bookings that are a result of this advertising, neither with the arrangement or payment nor through charging commissions for these bookings.
Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.0

I dont see any problems given the fact that it is a clean business. It would have to go through a due-diligence process as any business would have to.

When I started looking for a payment processor, I also believed it shouldn't be a problem. However, most of the processors that we've applied with have refused us point blank as their terms of use don't allow for escort services to be sold on the site.
We've tried to explain that we don't sell escort services, but advertising space. We still get lumped into the same category.
The few processors that are willing to talk to us are either exorbitantly expensive (i.e. 11.5% upwards), or appear to have shady posts on forums about their payouts to merchants.0

Have you considered positioning your service offering a little differently to the payment processors? Also, if you ran a few ads that were not escort related then you could more effectively present yourself as a advertising space.

I'm assuming that there may be Paypal terms of service (policy) issues with that. Can anyone confirm?

You're right, Paypal won't process for escort or dating sites full stop. Google Checkout doesn't want anything to do with escort services (or the advertising of escort services) either.
Even Safecharge have knocked us back....and they've got some very hard core sites as clients...0

When you accept payment through paypal note it as Advertising Space and don't "link" your paypal account to your website. If I were you try to process about 1-2k and see how it goes and if its fine stick with it until they hold your money. You will eventually get it back in 180days.

Do you have processing history? What is your monthly volume?
From the information provided, I don't understand why you have had so much trouble.

We tried processing through Paypal as an advertising company when we launched, but they turned us off before we closed any sales. We processed through Google Checkout for about 10 days, successfully processed 8 sales, and had 2 cards rejected. They've now also suspended the account.
The remaining 102 transactions have all been processed through bank transfers or cheques. Only one of these cheques has bounced.
Our monthly transactions have steadily gone up in the 4 months that we have been up and running. In November we processed 45 transactions with a total value of 7500 GBP. We expect to be doing at least this number from now on.
Once we get a cc processor and offer our services on a subscription basis we hope to increase the number of transactions, while the total value stays more or less the same.0

Again, I dont see any problems with this model if the due-diligence checks out.
