Go to your bank and apply for a merchant account, works well in Canada. Tell them its going to be "MOTO" or Signatureless. They will know what you mean if you ask for a MOTO account, but if you ask for an Internet Merchant account they might just kick you out of the bank. (Canadian Banks are about 2 years behind the deal here when it comes to Internet stuff.)

You can use the services of anyone you wish. If you set up an account with your bank you won't pay any per-transaction processing fees like you will with most people on the internet. Your only fees will be a 2.5-4.5% "Discount Rate" that they keep for their fees. That's a lot cheaper than 5% + $0.35/transaction + $80/Month + ....

You get more control when you go directly through a bank, but on the other hand - a third party charges more but usually provides much better support and software. You do get extra for the extra money you are paying.

We went to the banks and we asked for an Internet Merchant Account about 1-2 years ago. They were so confused, I must've been sitting there for 30 minutes trying to explain!!

    http://www.soltrus.com does help a lot!
