Pingdom vs Others - Monitoring Uptime Tools

Hello
So i looking to buy a quality and reliable uptime monitoring service.
I have been testing PingDom free trial, and all the reports went fine. Also the interface is good looking and as public reports to show to clients.
So in terms of use and fuctions, Pingdom is perfect for me, but i wanted to know if Pingdom is a quality / rock-solid / reliable service? Or its just has a beutiful interface?
Any bad or good experiences with Pingdom?
Note: From many other posts i see that Alertra is a quality and reliable service.
So when comparing to PingDom will Alertra be much more reliable?
Thanks all and fell free to give some advices
Best Regards

You cannot go wrong with Pingdom. Definitely a great experience on our end.

I remember when Alertra was the most popular and Hyperspin was gaining in popularity.
How would you rate them now?

server monitoring is one of the topics that i regularly monitor on this and other forums.
you will find little or no negative comments about pingdom.
so, if you like it, and it has worked for you, then go with your gut. you can always change over later as it is not part of your own internal infrastructure.
good luck!

I am using serviceuptime.com the free version, they are pretty good and you have real-time stats link. So far good.

I've been testing panopta and pingdom. It seems that I get a lot of false reports with pingdom. I do like with panopta that with their standard plans, sms is free and their public reports page can be customized much more than any other I have tested.
We currently use serviceuptime and have had no issues, but panopta seems to give more info.

I've been using internetuptimemonitor.com. Works good and it's free so you can't go wrong with that! BTW - I HAVE gotten emails when my site was down too.

Hi Scott,
Sorry for butting in, but I get curious when you say you get a lot of false reports with Pingdom. Have you been in touch with us about that? False alerts from us are extremely rare (we have double-checks built into the system). If you contact us, I'm sure we can look at the test results, the way things are set up and whatever it is you're monitoring and help you figure out what's going on. Perhaps there's some detail in for example the settings that need to be addressed?
Our support is available at support -AT- pingdom -DOT- com. I hope we get to hear from you.
