There is only one problem I find with opensource projects. They tend to dissapear as quickly as they pop up. Its a serious consideration when the system will most likely support the major part of your business. Someone has to support it until its stopped being used.
Yes, unfortunately, open source projects can only survive if the people let it If no one helped linus, we wouldnt have linux. we have to put food on our tables too. however, the plus of open source cp's are, that unlike closed source cps, if the developers go away, no new (official) features would be added but anyone can look at the code and fix any problems - which is why alot of people embrace open source
