First Rackmount Build - Questions

I am trying to put together a 1U server, and this is the first time I've had to deal with the space constraints of a rackmount server.
I am toying with a RAID 10 setup, which requires 4 drives, so I am looking at 2.5" enterprise drives so that I can fit 4 into a 1U rack. The problem is I was on newegg and don't see any cases with 2.5" bays. Are there kits that convert 3.5" bays to 2x2.5" or something of this nature? Furthermore, I see here:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136260
that the 2.5" drive is inside a 3.5" brick. Can this be taken out of the mount? I don't see the point in paying extra for a 2.5" drive that only fits in a 3.5" slot.
I have read that in a 4-drive array, RAID 10 outperforms RAID 5. This seems counterintuitive to me because in RAID 5 there is essentially striping across 3 drives, and then parity on the 4th, whereas in 10, you would only have striping across 2 drives. Is this just because of the calculations involved in generating the parity?
Thanks.

I found some 2.5" based cases from supermicro, so maybe newegg just isn't the place to be looking for enterprise level products.
Also, a followup to my RAID 5 V RAID 10 question. Does RAID 5 performance increase as more drives are added to the array? Its RAID 5 that allows to add additional disks on the fly to the array, correct?

correct, a hotswappable RAID 5, and your best bet is going to be to suck it up and get the 2 u of space with the slide bays for the drives, then you can get someting with a hotplugable backplane and get the rigth hdd's for it or get a controlercard and long enough cabled to slide out with the drives, i don't think that the slim drives are all that great, I'd rather use a fullsize drive that was built with better ball bearings and such to prevent failure as much as possible.

Why not just use the 1U for the server, and all the storage separately?

Depending on your budget, there are many options. I like to use chassis and mb from Acme Micro www.acmemicro.com. The other componenets I get from Newegg or Provantage. Acme has lowest system prices but expensive components.
Here you go...
Dual quad core up to 48GB Redundant PShttp://www.acmemicro.com/estore/merc...tid=182
