This is in NO WAY a flame...BUT

Un-Metered is another word for Unlimited...and there is just no such thing. If it's truely un-metered then I should be able to push the max that the nic can do...100 mbps. Even Cogent is a minimum of $3000 for 100 mpbs.

Could everyone please stop using the UN word?

Thanks for your time visit the thread, the server is sold

I would very like this to be true (not saying it's not). But I've notice that the poster doesn't seems to reply to queries regarding the unlaying network and SLA.

If cogent cost $3000/100Mbps, economically it would be quite impossible to sell a delicated server with 10Mbps connection for $150. If the bandwidth is shared, I would very much like to know what kind of guaranteed bandwidth I would get and how they intend to uphold that guarantee.

I had the same (lack of) reply to my enquiries about their bandwidth providers and guarenteed transfer...

Does it matter? He already made a deal.

And no, unmetered isn't another word for unlimited...

Like dreamHOBO said, un-metered is not another term for unlimited. Btw, where did Dan7979 mentioned 100 mbps?

I did not know Dan had sold his server during the time I take to type my reply. Even so, I see no wrong regarding my comments.

Does it really matter? Maybe not now, but perhaps our comments would be useful to future potential customers? I believe the way a provider answer enquries say a lot about themselves.

Like I've said, I *am* interested in what he has offered. Had he replied satisfactory to my queries, I would definitely like to ordered from him when he has more servers to offer.

PS: It's fairly interesting to note that www.okisys.com still seems to be accepting new orders.

    It's unmetered because it's a p2 400 with 256 ram. I doubt it can go over 2mbps

I dunno, somebody here posted that he was pushing about 6MBIT with a flimsy little Cobalt. Of course those things are built for webhosting, but still... All depends on what you're serving up.

Its easy, do you really think the server is going to do 10mbps constantly?

Only if the line is completely dedicated.

I think it shouldn't be called unmetered if you are sharing a line that is 10mbps or less. And if it is shared it should be stated.
