Thumbs down

HostOnce

I know I'm new here, so this has probably already been addressed, but to all those other newbies looking to be hosted, HostOnce is NOT the way to go. They have poor customer service, terrible downtime, rude people working there, my email account was completely screwed up the moment the domain was set up. They're a terrible company. They also have false advertising, they claim "unlimited space and bandwith" unless your site is popular, in which case they'll shut you down without warning. Or they'll boot you for hosting your OWN sites in YOUR domain. Urg. STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM HOSTONCE. Oh, and don't be fooled by their "Just $4.95/month USD" because that's not true. They upfront charge you over $60 that can NEVER be refunded. Stay FAR FAR AWAY.

they're terrible. thats all they care about is money. they find reasons to delete your sites with no refunds after a week. i'm taking it on as my duty to help spread the word around the net for all the idiots like myself.

As you can see, ABob has been here long enough, heh. We do ask that you choose a username that does not have a host name in it (especially xxxsucks). We ask that your posts tell your tales of woe, not the username itself. Danke. You may request another name by emailing us with this username.

Thats my chicken, laying down the law.

Hostonce isn't all that bad. I have had an account for a little less than a year and I am actually happy. Of course I don't ever use that account, but for $60, no big deal.

I'm not saying $60 is chump change, but it could be worse.

So they are great if you never use that account.
Now there is one honest review!
I want to get an unlimited acount that I will never use also. Where do I sign up?

I don't use it because after the first month I had them, they closed me down for 6 months...I just barely regained control of it.

So you are confirming what AnotherName said when he stated "that they will shut you down whenever they get a chance". Or, did you lose control for another reason?

I'm just curious, plus I wish I had $60 right now
