If you check the record there is a fax number. I've found that my ip is not responding, nor is the ip for the domain server. Also the registration for the domain expires Nov. 14, 2008...... Hopefully there just a server issue somewhere that will get resolved soon.

Hard to communicate via fax...
Leslie sent me a PM about 2 hours ago, which really does not tell me much that I want to hear:
It seems that there was a hard drive failure and we are currently unable to recover any data from it after rebooting. If you have a local backup, we can restore it for you on another server immediately. We will update you further on this.
There are supposed to be remote backups but have no idea if one is being restored. I make daily home backups and database backups for my account, although I did not do one today - latest is from Monday morning. My concern is that of my customers.

You're right fax does not work for two way communication. But that's all I found. Please update with anything you find out.
As far as I see Qoozz.com is not available, just like my sites.

Nothing is available.
Leslie updated me via pm and said it was 2 hard drives that failed... could not retrieve any data and the backups they are restoring can be from 2 weeks to a few months old. Also, the hard drives will be sent out to see if any data can be recovered.
Going to get a lot of nasty emails when its all said and done.
I had asked Leslie if my accounts could be moved to the new DC about 1-2 weeks ago. I wish they had been.

Most recent PM, from about an hour ago, was that the restoration process is still under way. Unfortunately, for what ever reason, Leslie said last night that:
These backups range from a few weeks old to a few months old depending on which server you are on.
Daily backups are not done:
*Remote backups are configured weekly for all our clients across all our servers.
If the backups are more than 14 days old, then there will be 8-10 of my customers who won't have accounts [or files] on the server.

Good to know that something is happening and that there is some hope that sites will be back up.
Frustrating not having any means of communication with your host when sites are down.
If you hear any further news please pass it on here. TIA

I have ALL my websites hosted on Qoozz and live in the same town as Leslie.
Qoozz has been down at least 14 hours and I only found out why by Googling to see if there was any explanation. No emails have been sent out to inform customers what has happened.
I have been working flat out on one site, day and night for months and it uses several open source and paid installations. While I have been backing up the databases, the hundreds of tweaks I have made to the software were backed up on a different area of the website!
I had no idea there was no daily backup or redundant server backup.
The auction site alone was nearly 60Mb in size and I had been avoiding downloading a file structure backup. Past attempts to restore the site from such backups have failed anyway with the database not accepting the changed information.
All the tweaks will now have been lost, along with customer accounts and details. I am running an auction site and spent all day yesterday fixing problems with over 80 listings. That will all have been wasted.
Even my email addresses are down, including my PayPal one.
I now face the prospect of having to rebuild and re-tweak from scratch or dump the lot.
The first rule of computing - BACKUP! Not only have Qoozz been slack in not doing daily backups, so have I. This is very bad timing for me to be reminded of this lesson and a wake-up call about putting all my eggs in one basket.

I wish there was some communication from Qoozz about the situation.
They could be posting here even.

I just spent that last 3 hours trying to compile a list of my customers effected by the outage. I even created a gmail email account so I could contact everyone. I just sent out an email profusely apologizing for the downtime. Not sure why Qoozz could not do the same.
I certainly feel for everyone involved. I am completely perplexed by the backup issue myself. Posts here at WHT by Brown tout "weekly remote backups." Being told that the backups are a few weeks to a few months old is disconcerting.
I do have database and file backups from Monday, although file backup is a home directory backup, not a full backup - it won't do me any good if I am going to have to recreate customer accounts that may be effected by the old remote backups - still trying to figure out how I am going to get their lost data back on the server. I do have some local backups of the most recent accounts created so, that will help some.
I hope that most of my customers who were effected were keen enough to make backups of their own.

Hopefully, Qoozz will explain in detail the cause for the server downtime, compensation being offered for the downtime and measures being taken to prevent future downtime.

Over 24 hours down and no word direct from host. Not good.
Can only hope that the lack of communication is a result of fulltime effort directed to restoring sites. I, for one, would appreciate leslie taking a couple minutes to let us know status.
