    * George Bush Approval Rating. please vote.

We all know about George Bush, and how well he handles things for the most part. But lets take EVERYTHING into consideration.

-- His stubborn threats to Iraq
    -- Handling of 9/11
-- Handling of China Detaining our people
    -- Corporate Fraud
    -- Handling of Miners Crisis
    -- Handling of Stock Market

And those are just the major issues.

Vote, and post your decision-making thoughts, if it wasnt one of these major events.

    I appreciate your opinion.

I say bring back Bill, he maybe couldn't keep it in his trousers, but at least he understood diplomacy.

Below 1?!? Thats ridiculous. The guy cannot even tie his own necktie. I did not vote because the poll did not have an option for below -100%.

When times are too good, we all find reason to complain. So were times when billy was around, people complained even when he sneezed. Now JB has hit town and we are barely struggling to keep our heads above water, let alone bother about how well he is doing.

doesn't llok like he is very popular from the poll. shame really, if he wasn't such a short sighted, ignorant idiot then i'm sure he'd be a nice guy. or something.

Well, I'm not really satisfied with George Dub-Ya. However with the things that have happened, I think he's done a pretty good job. I mean, look, the economy pretty died, that wasn't his fault. September 11th, you can't blame him for that. Not to mention he's a southern boy, so you pretty much have to expect him to come out with the big guns.

I think Bush is an idiot. His handlers did a good job punishing Al Quaeda and have smoothed his problems with English, but it is time to lay low for a bit and correct the many problems we are having at home.

I voted 40-49, but only because of how good of a figurehead he is. It would have been higher, but since he appointed John Ashcroft as the Attorney General we've had more and more of our rights taken away from us in the interest of terrorism prevention.

Yes, 3,000 people died. Yes, it was a tragedy. No, the War on Terrorism is not a "total war" like World War II was and therefore is no justification for the removal of our most sacred rights. (if I was able to vote in 2000 I would have voted for a third party, or failing that, Gore)

Hmm. I wonder if all the people who voted "Below 20" are foreign visitors of WHT. Does any hatred of America have to do with their votes?

Nothing to do with hatred of America at all, just to do with Bush himself and his major ego problem, same goes for Tony Blair, they should both get off the ego merry-go-round before something their reputations (and the rest of us) will re-gret happening - Let's face it, if Saddam decided to attack us, it wouldn't be Bush and Blair that suffered would it? Noooo, it'd be us, the poor little people who seem to have no say.

Die hard republican... But, I'm just not happy with GW... Let's face it, the world looks exactly like it did when his dad was president.

GW 1 - Lost job at Digital Equipment Corp.
    GW 1 - Iraq Mess

GW 2 - I Loose job at Compaq working for Pathworks group (Old DEC software group).
    GW 2- Iraq Mess.

    Go figure.

Now, I deal with wonderfully happy customers, and don't have to worry about a George screwing things up for me.

Of course, my significant other works at HP/Compaq/DEC... Better not mess with HER!

You can look forward to the 10 years of economic growth after we bomb the hell out of Iraq. Well, if they used a nuke or two then we'll all be screwed.

You have a strange perception of the world. Americans are like children. How can you hate them?

I do suspect you are right though on the foreigners voting low on Bush. During the election there were polls in most countries around the world. Who would you vote for, Bush or Gore?

Around 90-95% of the world population voted for Gore. In my country he got 98% of the votes.

I still truly, honostly cannot understand why someone in their right mind would vote for Bush. How can an 50.0001% of a nation fote for the dumbest idiot on earth? What did the world do to deserve this ??

What makes it worse is he has no Congressional experience whatsoever.

If I'm not wrong, I remember that some dead people voted to Bush in Florida

For what it worth my opinion, he's a *****, ignorant, arrogant and I hope to see that idiot in jail.

Actually, they didn't. More Americans voted for Bush's opponent, Al Gore, than voted for Bush -- and right around 48% for each.

Is this a failing of the Electoral College? If we elected the President directly, would Democrats always win?

I moved to America at 17 and proud to call myself an American, because like you (hopefully), America is still and will always be the greatest country in the world. That does not mean I love my homeland any less. But to wonder whether foreign voters are voting because of a hatred of America may be bordering on ignorance. You have to understand that a vast majority of foreigners both inside and outside the U.S do not hate us because we are Americans but hate certain (and I stress "certain") aspects of - not only this government's but many previous US administrations - treatment of people living in foreign countries. It is our responsibility as Americans to try to understand our government's policies towards the world and maybe we will begin to understand why all the anti-America sentiments. That will help give America a much more positive image abroad.

Always, no. Would they have in 2000? Yes.

But the Electoral College will be around for a long time, because it's doing exactly what it was meant to do: solidify the stability of the two-party system.

Wouldn't a third party still be possible in the Electoral College?

Actually, wasn't it put into place, because at the time, if all the amercan's voted, it would take years for everyone's vote to actually get counted???

And let's not forget that the general population wasn't intelligent enough to vote on there own...
