I was going to suggest this as well, but I checked and because the OP needs to track many sites (30), it came out to more than Pingdom charges. I'm not sure if the free version of Hyperspin supports having that many sites or not, but I know it will only check them at 60 minute intervals.
-Edit- I took this from their FAQ:
1. Can I manage more than one website or server in an account?
Multiple tests is supported in the Professional account but not in the Free account.

You could also try unialert.com. It's not perfect though, and from my experience no free uptime monitor is.

http://www.wormly.com/plans
I used them for a month and they were brilliant, I'm not sure if the pricing is suitable for you, however I would highly recommend their tracking, it was brilliant Very very comprehensive and accurate.
