VOIPo the biggest scam ever

Look at their site it says "Starting at $8.25/month" when you click on it, it takes you to a page with $199 sign up meaning its annual but if you do $8.25 x 12 = $99. Now look at their main page it says "Limited Time Promotion: Second Year Free" "For a limited time, you'll get your second year of VOIPo service free when you purchase an annual plan. With this promotion, you'll pay one flat rate and VOIPo will absorb the taxes and fees for your line." the plan is $199 meaning you are paying for 2 years, so where are you getting a year free??? LOL I can not believe how these newbie companies are trying to ripoff people.

I'm sure there's some sort of communication error/misunderstanding. Contact them and see what they have to say about it.

Sounds like a Scam to me. If someone actually falls for that scam and Purchases from them I would like to ask, were did you learn your math skills from?

Maybe it's an error on their web site? Have you contacted their sales about this?

VOIPo is not a scam, Hostgator uses Voipo and the Toll free number they offer for free of charge with your business package are from Voipo.

They are saying 8.25$ its because if you calculate 2 years price at 8.25$ it would be 198$ or approx. 199$, and they are practically giving you 2 years at 199$, this is why they are saying the price is 8.25$ per month.

Hope that should clear your idea.

They must have removed that promo wording because now it's just $199 for 2 years, which is about $8.25/mo.

Doesn't seem to be "scammish" to me.

Not a scam. The regular price has always been listed as about $15/mo, so the $8.25 is figured after the deal price was set.

I don't see where the confusion is coming from. This thread and its title should probably be cleaned up to something a little less libelous.

The site says, "Limited Time Promotion: Second Year Free"

In the plan description, under number of months, 12 is crossed out and replaced with 24.

There's your second year free. That makes multiplying the low monthly price times 12 pointless because you're getting 24 months.

Breaking it down to a "as low as" monthly price is just a courtesy for those that want to see a monthly break-down. Hosts do the same thing... show you a low monthly price, but hit you with a yearly bill if you want that price. Everyone knows that the monthly amount, even if paid yearly, is what's making the sale.

And to make it even clearer, it says right there that if you want to pay monthly, it's $18/month... which is $432 for two years, showing the promo is a huge savings.

No matter how you want to look at the price, voipo has put it right there on the front page.

I'm wondering what is call quality can you get for this money? Is any one use they service?
But international pricing looks very high to me Russia $0.2033/min it is way way to high as well as India $0.0949/min. But if you don't need any international calls you should give them a try at least for $18 you can get a Linksys ATA devices to play with.

Thanks Mike in FL. This is completely correct.

The price listed in the pricing table under the "Annual Plan" column is $199 which would be for 12 months. The 12 in the "Months Included" row is crossed out to show that you'll get 24 months for that price with the special.

The image at the top is just to break it down the cost/value of the special as a whole.

Sorry for any confusion.
