Yes Greg this is true and I have seen another few fake reviews in your directory from *advertisers*.
Yes, I talked to Nick from DataHostDirect about them last night. I have an odd feeling that those individuals may be getting paid to post the reviews in some manner.

I did some snooping and JustHost has BestHosts2009.com as well (though it is not resolving at the moment). A marketing company owns BestHosts2010.com and BestHosts2011.com has not been registered yet.

Actually those top10 sites can be very profitable!
especially when justhosts say they are top host at $4.95 then you visit their site to see their plans are not very well thought out.
http://www.besthosts2008.com/ in $4.95
then
http://www.justhost.com/ in £3.95 for uk people but $4.95 if you change to US.
it even says no hidden fees...
should be bestripoffhosts

Okay, I've lost even more respect for JustHost.
Look at the bottom of their website. This is just a classy award:

Those who are ignorant to such sites are bound to be tricked and pay a price. We're assuming that justhost's service is low quality. They do need to retain a good % of their customers in order to survive, so perhaps the service isn't all that bad. That is, unless the customer truly believes he's got the best, and wonders: "If the best is so bad, I wonder what's out there! Good thing I chose these guys!"

Isn't it interesting JustHosting has vertical banner adds on WHT!?
It makes me wonder if their sales have gone up or down due to this thread?

Wow JustHost.com is monitored by Just Uptime (http://www.justuptime.com/) for uptime. Just look at the link on the very bottom of their web site.

Well though they are monitored by uptime, anyway we can know the results?
Yeah but they own the uptime company that is supposedly monitoring JustHost. Personally, I wouldn't trust such uptime data from a company that writes their own "top ten" "independent reviews" and creates their own #1 hosting awards.

My thoughts are like this.
What makes them any worse than all the other hosting companies that conduct their business and marketing strategies along similar lines?
They seem to be just one of many...which is why I can't single them out for abuse.
LDCDC is pretty much correct here.

Well unless they're actually paying a price... kinda like there is no free lunch type of thing.
I don't have any experience with JustHost so I can't speculate on whether they are good or bad (and since they're still in business that does show something) but I am more annoyed with their deceptive marketing tactic.

I would love to hear a response from an official representative from JustHost about what has been discussed in this thread to hear their side of the story.

I wonder how much of traffic we are indirectly passing on to Justhost by keeping this discussion active even though it is towards the negative side.
Ditto! I was wondering the same. I noticed a JustHost vertical banner add in the margin lately. I don't know if it is something new or just noticed it do to the recent publicity.

Yes that would be interesting to hear... I wonder if they even thought of it and not some poorly paid marketing firm.

I don't think much. Even if we were, no one has said anything bad about the support at JustHost, only their marketing schemes were a little unethical.

only their marketing schemes were a little unethical. I bet that there would be some UK consumer protection organizations that would be quite interested in hearing about them. Often enough the unethical turns out to be illegal too, or if it isn't yet, it becomes so.
